I was so sorry(quite late!) to hear of your mother's passing. I am a distant relative through Benjamin Ephraim Kellogg, and was googling the rose named after your mother because my mother had saved an article about it in the family archives. I hope time has healed your loss somewhat.

My parents, Phil and Lura Willon, moved into their home on Sunnyridge Road--next door to the Kellogg family--in the summer of 1972. From 1972 until my mother's death in August 2013 (my father died in March of 2001), the Kellogg family and the Willon family were good neighbors and friends.
Mrs. Kellogg was a gracious and caring woman. After my mother died, I kept the voice message she left on my cell phone until this past summer when I got a new phone and, sadly, somehow, it didn't survive the transfer of information. But I will never forget what she said about my mother as well as the kind and loving way in which she said it.
Mrs. Kellogg was a multi-faceted woman. She ran a company. She was a world traveler. She had an artistic side in her appearance and in the way she dressed. Most of all, she was a woman devoted to her family and to her friends. And, she seemed to treat many of us as her friends!
The world was a nicer place with Mrs. Kellogg in it. My family and I will miss her.
