Hi My name is Elfe, I'm grandmother to 3 Watson children that go to St. James. All of us are still in shock over the loss of our wonderful SJ family. Elina (3rd grader) prays for Samuel & she told me "he's with God now, he will always be a happy little boy".
Our faith is tested so often, Elina gave me hope. God bless
your family.

Our deepest condolences to your family. Martha, I first met you when you were pregnant with Samuel. Our children went to preschool together, we celebrated birthday parties, and later I would run into you often... at our kids' swim lessons, skating lessons, Sea Lab in Redondo where your Mother praised your efforts for choosing health foods to feed your children. You called my name in your friendly voice in the parking lot of Joanne's where we talked about our children taking sewing classes. I for one will remember you as a great Mom and truly kind person with steadfast faith in God and the Catholic Church.

Glenn, Maggie and Angela,
I cannot imagine the pain in your hearts that you must be experiencing. To lose a wife, mother, son and brother so young is beyond comprehension. Although we do not understand God's plan and question, "why?", please keep the faith.
A warm thought that you can embrace is that Martha was there, on the other side, to welcome and guide dear Samuel, into his mother's arms once again.
With love and aloha from the entire Gaza ohana in Hawaii,

Martha you were the best mom to Samuel. It gives me comfort that you two are still together and will watch over Glenn and the girls like you always have. You both will never be forgotten by the St. James community.

My relationship with Martha was a special one. During the last year of her life we overcame many obstacles together. She helped me more than she'll ever know. I am a young single mother with no experience. Martha was such an active parent to her children. She gave me advice from which preschools to enroll my daughter in, potty training, after school activities and how to love being a mom. We would often get so involved in our subjects she would always love to conversate and research about the passions.
I can honestly say, Martha and Sam should of been the last people to go. Their souls and lives were so pure, simple and beautiful.
I will never forget our lunches at lomita Thai, the veggie taco night, and Sam playing with Kaia while I helped Maggie and Angela do homework.
I will never forget your memories, Martha! I plan on carrying your legacy.
Please shine on the world as you always have. Rest in peace my friend.

Our heartfelt sympathy to the Gaza family. Our family feels connected to that corner of PCH & Vincent because we got married at St. James over 30 years ago, raised 4 children in Redondo Beach and attended church and many functions, like this Christmas one, many times. We can only imagine the pain you are going through, and specially at this time of the year.
We pray that these 2 Angels will help you ease your pain. May you find some positives in this tragic loss. When God closes a door, He always opens another. Our prayers and those of others will help you find them.
