James FRANK Obituary

FRANK, Dr. James Michael "Jim" Of Beavercreek, Ohio died peacefully Friday, Dec. 30, 2016, surrounded by his loving family at Hospice of Dayton. Jim was born on July 16, 1957 in Dubuque, Iowa, son to Francis J. and Cecelia M. (Konzen) Frank. He graduated from Loras College and the Des Moines School of Osteopathic Medicine. Jim worked as a dedicated physician who was known to go above and beyond for his patients. Those who knew Jim found him to be a very giving, compassionate, funny, studious, and intelligent person who led his life with humility. Most of all, Jim was known for his love of Jesus Christ and his family. On August 18, 1979, Jim married Hedy (Migally) Frank in Dubuque, Iowa with whom he had three children. Jim was a loving and attentive father and grandfather who imparted his love of education to his children. He was a passionate learner, particularly with regard to WWII, in which his father had served. Jim is survived by his wife; his three children, Heather (Nicholas) Shannon, Lindsey (Lorenzo) Mora, and Brandon Frank; his four grandchildren, Elena and Angela Mora and Sophia and Sonya Shannon; and his sister Kathy Kilburg. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Sheryl Coleman. A private memorial service will be held by Jim's family. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Hospice of Dayton, who provided loving and comforting care to Jim.

The Franks home has always been my second home. Jim was always welcoming me, no matter if it was a quick drop in to pick up Lindsey or a long week stay. I will always remember being upstairs when the Bengals games were on and hearing a normally soft spoken man yelling at the TV. That memory makes me smile now! I'm very sorry for the loss that you are all going through, If you need anything please let me know. I love you all.

Many people and friends have asked me if there is anything they can do in respect to my father's passing. I would love for you to share your memories of my father in his obituary as those hold precious to me. Thanks.

He was a father who provided in many ways, protected, instructed, and most of all cared for his children. Dad was an example of Jesus Christ through his love and help for all. Through his actions, he not only instructed me to love god, but to love Jesus and act upon it by helping others. His last words to me were " Never give up on Jesus and help others." My dad was special and I will honor his memory by following through on his last words to me. Thank you dad, for the gift of your love and God's everlasting love as a father that I will always have a father in Christ. Love ya!

Your daughter,
Lindsey
