ALBERT PARSON Obituary
Of Brighton Heights, on Tuesday, September 23, 2014. Beloved husband of the late Charlotte D. Parson; loving father of David (Eileen) Parson, Jan (David) Moreland, Albert W. (Barbara) Parson III and Brian Parson; brother of Darlene and the late Florence, Joyce and Ronald; dear grandfather of Amy (Bret), Lori (Brian), Matthew, Michael (Jaclyn), and Patrick (Urara); great-grandfather of Dylan, Owen and Gavin McKee, Kaitlyn and Ryan Parson, and Adam Dunhoff. Friends received Thursday 2-9 p.m. at SCHELLHAAS FUNERAL HOME, INC., 388 Center Avenue in West View, PA 15229, where services will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. Prior to his retirement, Al was employed by the Pittsburgh Press for almost 30 years. Al enjoyed playing with the Senior Softball Team in the North Hills. In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations to the Wounded Warrior Project, 301 Grant St., Pittsburgh, PA 15219. Al illustrated a number of my articles during the 30 years we worked together, but except for when his wife died, I don't believe we ever had a serious conversation. It was all light-hearted fun. He was a humble, self-deprecating guy, as anyone can tell from his nickname. I will miss him at future Press gatherings. He's in my prayers.
