Dr. Blackman was my Humanities professor at Geneseo. He was a challenging teacher and had the best stories. He made an impact on both my and my husband's lives and we are so thankful we had the chance to learn from him.,Dr. Blackman was my Humanities professor at Geneseo. I am so very sorry to hear of Larry's passing. As a former secretary of the Department of Philosophy I had the honor to work with him on a daily basis, and to get to know him. He was someone who I respected and who I was honored to call friend. May he rest in peace after such a difficult journey in recent years.

As colleagues we never reached the same conclusion in a debate, but I honor Larry's willingness to offer his ideas with intellectual rigor, general good humor, and a decent regard for the larger truths. Prayers and condolences.
