Marie, the sadness is so very deep yet our dear Lord has heightened our gaze. Upward to the heavens.
Dennis and i spent a fair amount of time watching your son at CIF while he high jumped. Joking and laughing and sharing stories.
Thank you for the opportunity to gain your friendship while serving you when you came to shop with us at Albertsons.
My prayers are constant for you and your son.
Peace and love as always..

The Green Family-
Marie,
I realize there is little one can say or do, but I wanted to express my deepest sympathy to you and your family. Denny always treated me the way he wanted to be treated - that is with respect and dignity. He made my retiring years special and for this I will always be grateful.
God bless you,

"I am saddened by the passing of Dennis Green, I have shared with many of how he visited Richard R. Green Central Park School on my request to see this student who played the drums. Green was taking drum lessons while a coach for the Mn Vikings. Well he came to the school's last band concert of the year. The school was excited to have this Special guest. He met the student, commended him and left to catch a flight. This really touched my heart of taking the time to show such act of kindness. He was also very passionate about poetry too! He left an indelible on Mn. in sports and humanity! A-shaa Dennis Green may you now rest in God's love Rosa Bogar Mpls. Mn.

Dearest Marie, Vanessa, Zach, Jim, Gail, and Jimmy,
We can't put into words how very saddened we are for all of you on the loss of your husband, dad, son-in law, and brother-in-law. While we have only met Dennis a few times, we feel like we know him through Jim and Gail's stories and our long ago invitation on the Denny Green Show. In the few instances we met and talked with Denny, we knew we were in the presence of an amazing man - smart, compassionate, big-hearted, down-to-earth - a larger than life person who made a difference in so many lives. Prayers, love, peace, and strength to all of you.

To Marie and the Green family, I'd like to express my deepest sympathy for the loss of your loved one and my friend. It was our mutual love of music and football that rekindled a friendship started many years ago in Iowa City, through his tenure in San Francisco and at Stanford to Minnesota. I sent him a tape of some jazz I recorded while working as a DJ at a local radio station here in Sacramento and Denny sent me a round trip ticket to Minneapolis to experience training camp with him and the Vikings. Over the next several years, Denny his coaches and the front office staff went above and beyond to make me feel at home. His counsel, advice but most of all his friendship will truly be missed. I was a sideline witness to many great players and coaches he led in victory and defeat. I miss you "Coach" and look forward to rejoining you in the Sunset of my Celebration to come.

My sincere condolences to the Green Family. Coach is the most influential person in my professional careers, as both a player and coach. Coach was truly a "Players" coach. I was saddened by the news of Denny's passing. Although we were both from Harrisburg, we graduated from different high schools and I didn't have the pleasure of meeting him until we were freshmen at Iowa. I have fond memories of those days in Iowa City. It was always a treat to be in Denny's company, even when we were in Portuguese class which was clearly not his favorite place to be! Many years later, I was working at a community-based health center in one of Harrisburg's public housing communities and contacted Denny. He was generous with his support of our work. It was my hope to someday see him again and I sincerely regret that I won't have that opportunity. Denny was one of the good guys and he will surely be missed by many. I extend my sincerest sympathy to his family.

Dear family of Denny Green,
I was shocked and saddened at news of his sudden passing. Denny and I went to Edison Jr. High and John Harris High School together. He was my 1967 Class Pres. I tutored him in Chemestry. I ended up in Seminary in Dayton while he was also there. I've always been proud of all he accomplished in his life against great odds. He was a good kid who became a good man. I know he's with the Lord.

My dearest family, my heart is heavy for you, and saddened about the loss of my Uncle Dennis. The youngest of the Green 5 may have been famous to the world, but to all of us, he was just our Uncle D. He had that Green smile that lights a room up, and a love for his family that was indescribable. I will miss him dearly but I trust that he and daddy are reunited with Grandpop and Grandma, and they are all most likely fishing :)
Love to all of you. Marie, what a Blessing you were to him, Patti and Vannessa....his beautiful daughters, and Zach and Jeremy....stay strong cousins. Love you all. MG
