Antonette Nicholas Obituary

The world was saddened today by the passing of Antonette "Toni" Nicholas. She passed away Saturday, Nov. 1, 2014. She joins her husband, Peter Nicholas, who went on before her in 2000. Funeral: 10 a.m. Thursday at St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church, 303 Cullum Drive, Euless. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Moore Funeral Home, with a Trisagion prayer service at 6:30 p.m. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, Toni had requested that donations be made to the St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church in her name for the Kitchen Renovation Fund. Toni was born April 25, 1932, in Aliquippa, Pa. She was a graduate of Pittsburgh Beauty Academy and operated her own hair salon through most of the 1960s, giving it up to practice from home when her second child, Tina, was born. Toni had a loyal clientele, as she befriended all who met her. Toni was a resident of Arlington for the past 29 years. She attended St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church in Euless and was a member of the church council and the St. Irene Philoptochos Society. She could be found in the in the church kitchen well before and during the annual Greek festival. Survivors: Son, George Nicholas, his wife, Marie McNicholas, and her grandson, Peter Nicholas; daughter, Tina Nicholas-Cavazos and her husband, Eloy Cavazos; and brothers, James Antonis and his wife, Jay, and Michael Antonis.

My heart is heavy !! The loss of my dear friend Toni is almost more than I can bear,but she is no longer suffering and I am grateful for that. We had wonderful times together and we will meet again May her memory be eternal !!

She was, and will ALWAYS be, simply our Toni...Nanny, friend, surrogate grandmother, and someone that will be so missed. Always there for you, even with her own her health in question...Even at the end she was more worried how we were that her self...NO ONE ELSE can replace her.
