It was so sad for me when I learned of your passing. It was and still is hard for me to believe. The first time I heard about you was in 1974. I started working as a country music disc-jockey at our local f.m. radio station in Lebanon TN. The first song of I remember playing of yours was your hit song "Till The Rivers All Run Dry." I thought, Wow! What an awesome voice this man has and right then and I was hooked on your music. I could hardly wait for your next hit song to be released. I...

We miss you very much Don. You and your music were a huge part of so many people's lives. I will never forget you my dear friend.

When I was 13 years old and dad was playing 'You are my best friend'

I met Don twice as he performed at the Isle of Capri casino in Lula Ms. The 1st time he signed my guitar and we talked about 20 minutes before he went on . The second time the rest of the band signed another one of my guitars . John Garner and I talked for a few minutes. Let me tell you , Don and his band were all great human beings. I'll always love Don and miss him so much , not a better singer anywhere. I know he's in Heaven and hope he's watching over me too as I make my way down this...
