ELKIN — Mr. Thomas Clifton DeBorde, 80, passed away Thursday, Aug. 27, 2015, at Joan and Howard Hospice Home in Dobson. Mr. DeBorde was born June 13, 1935, in Surry County to Edgar Dallas DeBorde and Leota Walls Deborde. He was a member of Elkin Valley Baptist Church and was owner of Clifton DeBorde Distributing. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ailene C. DeBorde; stepson, Greg Mathis; and brother, Dallas DeBorde. Survivors include son, Cliff DeBorde of Elkin; daughter, Debbie Ball and husband Dusty of State Road; stepdaughter, Keyna Vestal and husband James of Elkin; stepdaughter-in-law, Christine Mathis of Elkin; brothers, Jim DeBorde of Elkin and Lyndon DeBorde of Texas; grandchildren, Bart Mathis, Samantha Mathis, Jennifer Ball Senter, Lindsey Ball Harris, Tony Vestal and Kendra Vestal; and great-grandchild, Tristyn Harris. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2015, at 2 p.m. at Elkin Valley Baptist Church with the Rev. Johnny Blevins officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service. The family request memorials be made to Elkin Valley Baptist Church, 118 N. Elkin Drive, Elkin, NC 28621.
