BOBBY TRUMBLA Obituary

TRUMBLA Bobby Trumbla went to be with the Lord on July 31, 2012. He is survived by his wife Tresa of 43 years, sons Shannon (deceased), Chad, Christopher, daughter Rachael, and grandson Chase. For twenty years between 1965 - 1985 he served in the U.S. Army as an instructor at Fort Bliss, served seven and a half years as part of the 32nd AADCOM in Germany, and help developed the Patriot missile system. While a member of the Armed Forces, Bobby was recognized multiple times by receiving the Army Achievement Medal, Army Commendation (2nd Leaf Cluster), Meritorious Service Medal (3rd Oak Leaf Cluster), and designated as an honor graduate of the 4th Army NCO Academy. During his post military career, Bobby was a defense contractor and was eventually asked to start Glacier Technologies. As President and CEO of Glacier Technologies Bobby grew the corporation from 2 employees to over 400 employees nationwide in a few short years. Because of his efforts, the Small Business Association and the El Paso Hispanic Chamber of Commerce recognized Glacier Technologies with the Small Business of the Year Award in 2011. In addition to making it a priority to bring jobs to the El Paso area, it was his leadership that brought Glacier Technologies to support battalions that made their home at Fort Bliss. Always involved in the community around him, Bobby was an active member of the Eastwood Church of Christ, serving as an elder for twenty years. Bobby was also Chairman of the Board for Christian Schools of El Paso and gave his full support to the school. A funeral service will be held at 12:30 pm at Eastwood Church of Christ, 10104 Album. Interment will follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery with full military honors. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to be made to Christian Schools of El Paso in his memory (10104 Album, El Paso, TX, 79925). A great man has left a big void in our world and will be truly missed. Service entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-East. Please visit on-line register book at www.sunsetfuneralhomes.net.

As my father their will be no greater man. He walked me through the hard times of being a teenager with a loving and just hand. Even when i ripped the door off my pinto he only asked "do you have a rope to tie it down to get home." i remember when a cashiers would give too much money back and my dad would look at me and say Chad you have to do whats right and tell the cashier she made a mistake, when we didn't have any money. I remember seeing the Alps and all the castles along the Rhine. and flying over them on Sundays. i loved that. i remember the retreats in Berchtesgaden. I remember a great dad.

Tresa and family, I want to again pass along my condolences to you all for the loss of Bobby. It was good to attend the funeral services and hear more of Bobby's life story, the strength of his faith and the lives he touched. I was very priveledged to have worked with Bobby over the past several years and will miss him personally and professionally. You are in my prayers, that you will have peace that passes understanding.

I'm so very sorry to hear about Mr. Trumbla's death. He was always such a sweet man. Rachael you were my best friend growing up and your dad always welcomed me into your family with every sleep over, trip to the mall, hanging out at Poki or whatever else we were up to! I was always impressed with what a loving father and husband he was. What a great example to everyone. I'm sure he is having one heck of a party and reunion of his own right now. My prayers and love are with your family at this time.

I was so sorry to hear that Bobby had left us. I worked with him at WSMR when he was the Program Manger for UIE. What a great man. May God hold you in his hands as you grieve for this wonderful man.
