Dr. Robert Michael Russo, D.O. BETHLEHEM Dr. Robert Michael Russo, D.O., passed peacefully in his sleep while battling cancer, on Monday, May, 7, 2018. He had just turned 70 years old. Born in Easton, April 16, 1948, he was the son of the late Michael R. and Mary E. (Dotta) Russo. Robert leaves behind his loving wife of 32 years, Terry (Talotta), and one daughter, Brianna. He is also survived by a large loving family in both the U.S. and Italy, countless friends and colleagues, and his beloved turtle, Millard. After earning his undergraduate degree in psychology from Boston University and serving in the U.S. Army, Robert found his calling to a career in medicine through his appointment as a staff officer for the Office of Surgeon General. Robert graduated from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1979 and opened his own family practice in Allentown. Although health complications caused him to leave his career in practicing medicine, he was fortunate enough to spend many years pursuing what he was truly passionate about. He loved sailing and fishing, volunteering with local government, playing the bongos and harmonica, flying model planes, singing to his favorite oldies and cooking. Those who knew "Dr. Bob" know that his greatest love was making people laugh and brightening even the darkest of days with his bold personality and humor. Funeral services will be held, Saturday, May 12, 2018, at 2:30 p.m. at the Ruggiero Funeral Home, LLC, www.ruggierofuneralhome.com, 126 E. Pennsylvania Avenue, Pen Argyl. There will be a viewing beginning at 1 p.m. until time of services Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will be in St. Elizabeth's Cemetery, Pen Argyl. Dear Terry and Brianna,

I'm so sorry to hear of Bobby's passing. We started first grade at ICS in Pen Argyl and were together up to eighth grade. During those years, we were Altar Boys, and we were Boy Scouts in Troop 50. Also, Bobby and a group of our friends used to ride their bikes down to my house above Delabole and go swimming in our pool until it was time for my dad to go to work. My dad would load everybody and their bikes up in the back of his pick up truck and drop them off in Pen Argyl on his way to work on the railroad in Bangor. We had great times. He will be missed, but always remembered for sure.

Looks just like you! Thank goodness for the time we spent at your Bethlehem house. Making pasties, upstairs in the garage at all Grandpops memorabilia, the books you gave me from your library an to think you kept my 48 Chevy that grandpop gave you for graduation from college. I will always appreciate the record grandpop made for your mother in NY. an its cover. Thanks for all the treasures from dapper Sparky! We had a pasty on their grave one other day and I do the same with my mom. Thee important rememberences of home. Now you're with them all even my dad. Hugs an kisses to all, from me, please.
