I was extremely fortunate to meet him at the Festival de Jazz d'Antibes in the South of France in July 1977, mesmerized by his music and enjoying being able to portray him from up close. In the pictures I took, he will continue to live on for me.

I had the pleasure of meeting him in 1986 at the Broward performing center of Arts, and in 1991 on Las Olas Blvd. at the park. Sat and had a beer in his trailer with his band. Such a talented gentleman. The best saxophonist, well missed and loved "the Cat Gato!"

l have wonderful memories of seeing him in person at the Latin Fest in Chicago in the early 2000's...can't remember the exact year...out in Grant Park at the open stage...
