Bob was my platoon sergeant while stationed at O’Brien Barracks Schwabach Germany in the late 1970’s. It was during the Cold War and the Russians would bristle along the Czech border prompting a fair amount of field duty and frayed nerves for us. Sgt Bretzel got us through it with equal parts professionalism and sense of humor. Bob helped me a great deal personally as well. Just one great, great guy. Rest In Peace Sarge.
