I watched the original Hee Haw when it first aired. To this day, when I think of Hee Haw, I remember Gordie as the radio newsman almost first. Wonderful gentleman. He is missed.

Well! I'll be! Didn't know Tapp was 'a Canadian country boy!' And that's a good thing! Still made me laugh along with all the others and his "charactors" a playin' on 'Heee Haw'with all the other 'characters! 'Pickin' and grinnin' All those many years through CBS & syndication! Purely County Funny! Gordie was a "true star!"

So sorry to hear of this. I loved hee haw and he was one of my favorite people. I loved his stories. I met him a few years ago t the American Music Theather..He was one of a kind and will be missed.
