Girls your mom was such a beautiful sole! She is forever in my heart, so many memories together hanging out with our daughters. She taught me so much about being a mom and friend. I just wanted you to know your family was in our hearts and minds as we remember her today as a family!

What a shock to find this obituary! Tamara ( we called her Tammy then) was a best friend in college, at George Fox. I was a freshman and she was a senior. We lived together a year. We played and laughed and prayed hard together. Her image of God transformed mine. She prayed to a boundless God of unconditional acceptance and infinite possibility. Because of her, I started my adult life on a spiritual path that encouraged my ideas of God to burst out of human definition.
She regarded each person of each ethnicity and faith as beloved by God. Her authenticity inspired and transformed me.
Tamara and I lost touch the past ten years. I had no idea she had left the planet. I'm so sorry I couldn't be there for her at the end. I have missed her since she moved to Michigan. Now I'll miss her always.
If you were lucky enough to be her daughters, her sisters, brothers, friends... you know the extent of the love Tamara brought to this earth. It was unending. It still is.
What a great loss to her family. My deepest condolences.
Love,
Carolyn Potts

Tamara was my dear sister, she listened to, interacted with and loved me and my family for 41 years. We will miss her birthday calls. She believed in miracles and often made me think about them. She took great joy in loving relationships, giving freely of her own reserves of love. Her death leaves a huge hole in my heart. I do expect to see her again.

I met Tammara when she first started working for Hope Network twenty some years ago. We were both raised in the traditions of Quakerism. She as a member of Friends Church, and, me in the Religious Society of Friends. There are not too many of us here in Grand Rapids. The Foxonian beliefs in pacifism, and love of others, as taught by Jesus. were so present in her belief system and so refreshing to me. The light of God shown through her on to all she knew. A true blessing to all of us.- Stephen Ford

I was blessed to get to know Tamara through "Make a Difference" at Hope Network. I remember going to Tamara when I was so anxious during my pregnancy with my son. It was the morning of my ultrasound and I was so scared there would be something wrong with him. Tamara said "I believe in miracles. Your baby is a miracle." The next morning I came in and excitedly showed her the ultrasound pictures. She was so excited for me. After I left Hope Network, every time I was at South Campus, I sought her out to show her pictures of my beautiful boy. Tamara was one of the sweetest and most giving people I have every met. I only regret not getting to know her better. Tamara - I won't ever forget your kindness and may your life be an example to all of us.

Tamara was passionate about her work, and her love for God showed in everything she did. She advocated, encouraged and prayed for all of the people she was around. I will never forget her direction of the choir at Christmas open houses at Hope. She knew music connected us together and to our humanity. You will be missed Tamara, but seen again by all of us who believe in God and His heaven.

Tamara was a true friend and most definitely loved The Lord. She helped me through some very trying times and I am forever grateful to her for that. I am keeping her girls (who she talked about all the time) and her entire family in my prayers. I know how Tam Tam (she hated when I called her that) lived her life and I'm confident that she is resting in our Savior's arms. God Bless you Tamara. I have lost a true friend. Love, John "Jay-Dee" Hoskins, former co-worker.

I worked with Tamara for the last 7 years at Steelcase. She was instrumental in helping me when I first started there. She was a wonderful person to be around and always found a way to go on and on about her daughters. I am very saddened at her loss, but I do know that she went through an awful lot the last few years and will try to find comfort knowing that she is at peace now.
My condolences,
