Barbara Vander Ploeg Obituary

VANDER PLOEG, BARBARA JO Shelbyville Barbara Jo Vander Ploeg, age 48, of Shelbyville, passed away Sunday, August 11, 2013. Barb will lovingly be remembered by her husband Kevin; her daughters Jennifer and Ashley Vander Ploeg and granddaughter Madison; her parents Chester and Marilyn Dolegowski; her brothers Larry, Johnny, Joey, and Ronnie Dolegowski and her sisters Christine (Joe) Scott and Marlene Knox; and nieces and nephews: Jessica, Travis, Trent, Julie, Heather, Amber, and Krysten. She was a 1983 graduate of Wayland High School and attended KVCC. Barb previously worked for the post office and was a bus driver for Wayland Public Schools. Most recently, Barb had her own sewing, dog treat, and cupcake businesses. She attended the St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. A time for relatives and friends to visit with Barb's family will be held from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM Thursday, August 14, at Kubiak-Cook Funeral Services in Dorr, 4330 18th Street, with a rosary at 6 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 AM Friday at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church with Fr. Harold Potter presiding. Interment will be at Maplewood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. The family welcomes memories and messages in their guestbook online at www.kubiakcook.com.
