Jeremy Soncrant Obituary

Soncrant, Jeremy A.

Jeremy A. Soncrant was born on September 27, 1983; he died of cancer on February 20, 2015. Frequently compared to the children's character, Ferdinand the Bull, Jeremy was a gentle man that valiantly fought cancer for three-years with courage and dignity. Throughout his difficult battle with cancer his dry and witty sense of humor never waivered. Jeremy's friends always welcomed his sense of humor and friendly nature. His family is very proud of how courageous he was during his three-year battle, as he always remained the Jeremy they always knew. Jeremy was a unique soul and he will be especially missed by his family who love him very much.

After his graduation from UWGB Jeremy was working on obtaining his Teaching Certificate with the hope of teaching third grade. Jeremy's devotion to teaching was because he loved children and he believed every child should be given the chance to flourish with education. His illness cut this dream short.

Jeremy often spoke of the family members that preceded him in death. Those he spoke of most reuniting with in Heaven were his beloved dogs. He was at peace when he died knowing that he would be soon playing catch, taking walks, and sharing ice cream in Heaven with Heidi, Molly and Truman.

In lieu of flowers, or other gifts, the family requests that individuals make a donation in Jeremy's name to: www.kathys-house.org or to Hospice of Green Bay.

Ryan's Funeral Home in De Pere is handling funeral arrangements; there will be no public services.

The family would like to extend gratitude to Dr. Jaslowski and his team at Green Bay Oncology, the nurses at St. Mary's Hospital, the staff of Unity Hospice, and Dr. Turaga and his team at Froedtert Hospital. Their care of Jeremy was always generous and sincere.

Hey Jeremy, I have been watching your channel after all these years. Your videos helped me finish a lot of games from my youth. Man, your channel reflects the golden age of YouTube. I hope they keep your channel up indefinitely because it has become a part of our American culture. No one lives forever, and time flies by faster than people realize. I'll see you on the other side one day, and we can chill, drink energy drinks, eat pizza, and play video games all day. I wonder if you liked heavy metal. Peace out, Jeremy.

Hey there, SaikyoMog. Just wanted to remember you as always. Your videos will and will always represent the best of the net.

Oh...I almost forgot..Sonic's doing pretty good so far. He's got...3 movies and Shadow's now getting a HUUUGE recognition from the public eye and the Sonic Movie 3 might be my fave of the trilogy so far. He's even voiced by Keanu Reeves. Bill and Ted, buddy.

Hope you're watching the news well from up there, man.

Hello,

I know Jeremy thanks to his let's play of Secret of Evermore on Youtube. This game is one of my favourite (almost top 1), and for a long time Jeremy was the only guy who uploaded a complete let's play. For me, watching this was like sharing this game with an old friend. I always think about him when I randomly decide to replay to this game.

Like someone said, you never truly left...

Thanks for everything and rest well.

I never knew you in person, but the thing that brought me to you was a video game. My favorite one to be exact, A Link to The Past. One of my brothers passed away from cancer as well, and I can't imagine the pain you went through. But I know of the immense strength you had to push and carry on as much as you could. I didn't know Jeremy at all. In fact, I'll be honest, I found out about his death via YouTube from a Super Metroid walkthrough video he had posted in 2011. When I found out he had passed away of cancer, it really struck me. I too had a battle with cancer. I was diagnosed in 2017, and, thankfully, am almost declared cancer free after three and a half years of no recurrence. I don't mean to sound hokey, but I feel like this was fate to stumble across this memorial. I wanted to add this comment, and I will also be donating to the Kathy's house website in Jeremy's name. I've never beaten Super Metroid, but now I have to. In honor of Jeremy.

I only know you through your YouTube channel, but...Jeremy, you were a natural-born teacher in real life. Through your videos, you shared lessons of patience, perseverance, and commitment...and that the rewards of careful planning, study, and practice could lead to success. You silently made students out of all of us, and gently showed us the way. Under your tutelage, we were able to achieve goals, complete journeys, and feel pride in our own accomplishments. Thanks to your instruction, demonstrations, and guidance, we’ve learned how to be the best. And so we thank one of The Best Teachers we’ve ever had. You’ll not be forgotten. Ever.
