Max and Ruth lived across the street from my wife Trudi and me when they first moved from Clemson to Peachtree City back in the late 90's. Our remembrances of them was most positive as we grew to become good friends. I always fondly remember the 2 trees Max and I planted in the side front yard. One was a Deodara Cedar and the other a Live Oak. That was now over 25 years ago. The Live Oak has gotten so large that the current owner had to trim off some of the branches. We placed the Cedar directly across from our kitchen window so when at the sink---we can look out and see that magnificent conifer. Every day as I see those trees across the street, it's hard not to remember the amazing Max Lennon and his lovely wife Ruth.
As a final note...Max and Ruth gave me a Japanese Camellia named "Ruth Lennon" that a gentleman at Clemson hybridized. It blooms HUGE pink blooms every spring. That Camellia is now over 25 years old and growing beautifully in our back yard. What great memories of the Lennons it brings every year!!!!

Ruth I just found out today, January 18th, of Max's passing. I was so shocked as was Trudi when I told her.
You and Max had just been to our home here in Peachtree City, Sunday, the 27th, on your way back to Mars Hill.. and Max showed me his new Tahoe---- It is so hard to believe that less than 48 hours later, he went to be with the Lord.
Please accept our sincerest condolences in this most difficult of times.... I hope to call and talk with you in the near future.

We are so sorry to hear of Dr. Lennon's death. We will never forget how helpful and reassuring he was when our daughter was a freshman at Clemson University. He calmed our fears and uncertainties as we all adjusted that year. He was an excellent Sunday school teacher as well. Please accept our deepest sympathy. May God comfort and sustain you during this difficult time and in the days ahead.
