Jack Gordon

1931 - 2017

GORDON, Jack A. Age 85, peacefully passed away surrounded by his loving family, at Hospice of Butler and Warren Counties on Saturday, January 28, 2017. He was born on September 21, 1931 to Milton and Margaret (McGinty) Gordon in Louisville, KY. He graduated from Hamilton High School in 1949 and served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War from 1952 to 1954. He graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a BS in Education in 1957 and was the football captain in 1956. He received a Master in Education from Xavier University. After college he was a business teacher and assistant coach at the following schools: 1957-1962 North College Hill, 1962-1963 Lima High School, 1963-1964 Middletown High School and from 1964-1982 was head coach at MHS. After retirement in 1983, he became the "Voice of the Middies" for over 25 years at WPFB radio station. He was in the Middletown High School Athletic Hall of Fame, Hamilton High School Athletic Hall of Fame, former chairman and member of the Butler County Sports Hall of Fame and Ohio Fastpitch Sports Hall of Fame. He was a member of the Middletown VFW and a long standing member of Holy Family Parish, St. John Church. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, infant brother, Billy Gordon and his first wife, Mary Kay (Donatiello) Gordon. He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Kiki Demetrion-Gordon; daughter, Kathy (Tom) Lindsey of Hilliard, OH and granddaughter, Katie Lindsey also of Hilliard, OH; son, John P. (Denise) Gordon of Bucksport, ME and granddaughters, Jessica (Todd) Russell, Elissa (Ryan) Lowell, Lindsey Gordon (Miles Bisher, fianc?e), all of Portland, ME; great grandson, Louie Russell. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Baker-Stevens-Parramore Funeral Home. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, February 2, 2017 at Holy Family Parish, St. John Church with Father John Civille officiating. Interment will follow at St. Stephen Cemetery in Hamilton, OH.
