I had the sincere pleasure of assisting Odette and Bill in their purchase of their lovely Simsbury home. I remember vividly telling my wife at the time that I had just met the nicest couple in Town. My condolences to Jerry and the entire Connolly family.

I am sorry to hear of the passing of Odette. I would only have brief meetings with her when she was walking her dog & I was working at Dyno Nobel. She always made my morning brighter & I looked forward to speaking with her & petting her pup before starting my day. She was such a wonderful person & I was fortunate to share a small part of my life with her.

From the moment I first met Odette in 2014, I knew that she was a sweet and special soul. The initial circumstances and purpose of our meeting was through the Simsbury Senior Job Bank as I was seeking a driver for my 2 young children. Her caring nature and confident attitude immediately put me at ease and I immediately entrusted her with my kids' welfare. Even after she stopped her driving duties, she and I remained in contact as I would seek out her worldly wisdom and positive energy. When she was diagnosed with cancer, I was brokenhearted, but she reassured me once again, that she would fight until the end and that all would be well with her. Although it was difficult to hear her relate her physical pain from her treatments, her undeniable spirit and faith in God was an inspiration to me and an honor to witness time and time again. I especially loved seeing her power-walking around the center of town looking she just stopped out of a beauty salon! One of Odette's favorite sayings was that she never wanted to look sick and refused to give in to her disease - she accomplished that throughout the past 5 years - and those words will always be remembered by me and serve as a source of deep strength. Odette- I am glad that you are reunited with your husband and not suffering any longer; however, you have left a big hole in a lot of hearts and you will be missed immensely. To all of Odette's family - may you find peace and reassurance in knowing that many communities are praying for your healing during this sad, difficult time. A beautiful spirit has gone home.
