Cheryl Brown Obituary

Cheryl Janette "Cheri" Brown
September 11, 1954 - December 9, 2014
Cheryl Janette Brown (Cheri), a woman of beauty and grace, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly of a brain aneurysm at the age of 60 years young on December 9th, 2014. Ever her love and her protector, Don kept vigil over her and comforted her until releasing her to the loving arms of her God whom she loved with all her heart. She will be sorely missed by all who cherished her.
Cheri was born in Alton, Illinois, the youngest daughter of Dan and Georgia Craig of Nampa. The family moved to San Diego when she was only 6 months old, so she was always a California girl at heart. Don and Cheri met in Merced, California, were married in San Diego, and later moved to Caldwell, Idaho, to raise their children and be among their extended family.
A few months ago, we mourned the loss of Cheri's mother-in-law, Dolly Brown. As stories of Dolly's unconditional love were shared, Cheri expressed her hope that she, too, could be remembered as one who loved so inclusively. Cheri, we think you met that goal and surpassed it. Our world has lost another soul whose ability to love rarely finds its equal. Cheri had the unique ability to nurture and be a mother to so many; to her own children whom she loved fiercely, and to her adopted children whom she loved as her own, including many within her Caldwell Christian Church family and community. She was happiest when serving others, and often expressed it through her passion for cooking. In fact, 30 guests were in her home this Thanksgiving, and she did what she loved best: seeing that everyone felt welcomed, loved, and had plenty to eat.
Cheri is survived by her beloved husband Don, her children, Tim (Tina) Tatum, Josh Brown, Rebecca (Jaime) Luna, Matthew (Stephanie) Wheeler, Jennifer (Dave) Wheeler, Melissa (Troy) Syverson, her parents, Dan and Georgia Craig, her sisters Marla (Tom) Wheeler and Debbie (Ted) Wheeler, 11 grandchildren, and countless nephews, nieces and cousins.
She may not be serving us platters of love anymore, but the food she left with us will fill our hearts and souls for years to come.
A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 13th at Canyon Hill Cemetery. Cheri's life will be celebrated at noon on Saturday at a memorial service and potluck at the Caldwell Christian Church, 3207 E. Ustick, Caldwell, Idaho.
