Gary was a special friend in grades 3 through 12. I remember his great generosity, kindness, steadiness, and willingness to work hard even in tough situations. It was a pleasure playing basketball with such a person and I have thought of him innumerable times over the years and the dozens and dozens of kind acts he did. My life was much enriched by his example and his presence. David McCormack

Gary was kind, generous, steady, and humble and that is why I loved being his friend in grades 3 through 12 and playing basketball with him. Hundreds and hundreds of times I thought of his great kindness and generosity to me over the years and how special he was. My younger brother Bill also remembered how special he was.
