It was a pleasure playing basketball with such a person and I have thought of him innumerable times over the years and the dozens and dozens of kind acts he did. Gary was kind, generous, steady, and humble and that is why I loved being his friend in grades 3 through 12 and playing basketball with him. Hundreds and hundreds of times I thought of his great kindness and generosity to me over the years and how special he was. My younger brother Bill also remembered how special he was.
