Although I haven't seen Jean since she moved to New York, I remember wonderful conversations from many years ago. That in itself is a tribute: what a smart, honest, witty woman. Some years ago, she was invited to Brazil because of her soap opera expertise. She was to teach telenovela writers how to construct a compelling story line without an ending. She came close to doing that for her own story.
