His poetry, bird photography, wit and generosity of spirit will be sorely missed. He was a good friend with a rare intellectual integrity.
Deepest sympathies to his family and to Bryan.

Hopefully the widespread love and appreciation that people across the community have expressed for John eases slightly the grief for his family and closest friends. We have all lost a national treasure.
There aren't many people who really qualify for the moniker 'legend', but John did.
Happy to say that I've been laughing at him and with him since Ep.1'Fred Dagg' Country Calendar!

To John's family and friends, I can only imagine how much you will miss him in your lives. Condolences.
To John - thank you so much for shining lights on hypocrisy and hyperbole, and loving language so much. I will miss laughing with you, and will always farnarkle in your honour.
