Alice McCoin Obituary

McCoin, Alice Elizabeth (Mount), of Wichita, passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2014. She was born in 1929, to John and Lizzie Mount, the youngest of nine children, and grew up on the farm just west of Schulte. She graduated from Goddard High in 1947, and in December 1950, she married Dale L. McCoin. They spent the rest of their lives happily together. They would take a road trip at the drop of a hat and enjoyed camping along the way. They spent the past 25 years as "Camp Hosts" at Travelport Campground in Lake George, Colo., and looked forward to every season, waiting out the winters in Wichita in order to get back to Colorado. Alice is survived by her devoted husband, Dale McCoin; her son, Morgan; daughter, Dalese Beals; and six grandchildren, Morguen, Mollie, Mickie, Austin, Grant McCoin and Sean Beals; numerous nieces and nephews; and Bob and Pat Gilley of Lake George. Heartfelt thanks to the Heartland Hospice and the staff of the Homestead Health Center. A memorial visitation will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 26, 2014, at Homestead Health Center. Everyone is invited to drop in and see Dale and share your memories of Alice. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Salvation Army.
