I have known your Dad(and Mom) since I was 12 years old. They always treated me as family; like a little sister and doted on me. I suspect your Dad is now very happy to be with his beloved Virginia.

I recall fond memories of visiting Jerry and his parents. His dad was a good person (and will continue to be). He's leaving behind a world that will miss him, but going to a place that will welcome him in multiple capacities.
