Donna Williams Obituary

March 24, 1949 - January 2, 2018
On January 2, 2018, Donna Jean Williams, beloved daughter, sister, aunt and friend, passed away at home in Dana Point, CA, surrounded by loved ones. Born March 24, 1949, in Santa Monica, CA, Donna grew up in Culver City, CA, an original descendant of the famed Maybelline family. She attended Santa Monica High School and College, then moved to Marina del Rey to pursue a career in real estate. Eventually Donna relocated to Dana Point to be closer to family members. She was an animal rights activist, world traveler, gifted gardener, talented artist and true fashionista. In latter years, she obtained a business degree from Vanguard University and continued an active real estate and consulting career in Orange County. She loved the ocean and could be seen daily walking her beloved poodle Lola at the Dana Point harbor. Donna had a real spark for life and was full of creativity, humor and compassion. She will be dearly missed by sisters Sharrie Williams Dorney and Billee Rae Williams, brother William Preston Williams III, niece Georgia Youtsey (Craig), grandnephews Rex and Kailer Youtsey, and countless family friends. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to the American Cancer Society. A private memorial will be planned.

This pic was from a trip Donna & I took to visit my Malibu childhood friends. It was a happy time & I'll always remember Donna as we passed on another in the hallways of Samohi & many decades later when we were introduced by a mutual friend in Dana Pt. We spent many hours walking the harbor & hanging out in the OC. Always in our thoughts & hearts.

Remembering my Darling Sister Donna.

She was an angelic child of God, who came here to learn lessons and then return home. As her sister, I often yearn to hear her voice, her laugh, her quick wit, her sympathetic love towards people and animals. Her beauty, charm and elegance. But, mostly I miss our unbroken bond for each other now and forever.

A slender white suit
Calm and composed
Ethereal and whispery
then a mischievous laugh...

My friend Donna was the very essence of compassion, of style of beauty. Born under the sign of Aries, she was a true fire sign often leading the way. Her magnetic personality enticed others to follow her lead. Donna Jean thrived at the coast where she resided for most of her adult life. She was a true beach girl who loved the sand, the waves and the sun. Donna was a woman after my own heart in her passion for animal rights! She could be seen walking her beloved Poodle Lola at the Dana Point Harbor that was her home away from home. She was an artist at heart and her creative abilities were obvious in her paintings, her cooking and in her incredible sense of fashion. Her dry sense of humor was the best and her facial expressions were priceless. We loved and cherished you dear Donner and feel cheated that you were taken from us at this time. You will live on in our hearts.

To Donna's family and friends... I hope the love that Donna had for all of you will be able to fill the emptiness in your hearts, over time. I am going to remember her as a beautiful woman with great strength who seemed to love all that is good. It's so hard to believe she is gone while I see her spirit very much alive in her family and friends..She will never, ever, be forgotten and I am thankful that Sharrie was kind enough to share a bit of who Donna was with me. My prayers go out to all who loved her.

THE GIFT

The gift of love is to grow
The gift of respect is to give it
The gift of power is to humble
The gift of friendship is to honor
The gift of the heart is to share
The gift of caring is to let go
The gift of touch is to feel
The light is our spirit that shines
What we have lost equals the gain...

A friend...R.I.P.

Donna was like a ray of sunshine on a cloudy day. Spring was her favorite season when the bougainvillea was in bloom. She was the best. A real trend setter. Always one step ahead on the latest fashions, movies, books, music or healthy habits. If anyone was going to live to be 100 it was Donna. It wasnt fair for her flame to suddenly go out when she had so much more to live. So much more to give. We love you Donna. You were one in a million.
