Anthony Massaro Obituary
Dr. Anthony Massaro, 79, of Melbourne, Florida, passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2014.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 17 at 11:00 am, at the Brick Church Cemetery in Spring Valley, NY.
Anthony was born May 5, 1934 in New York City, NY to Joseph and Philapina Massaro. He graduated from Manhattan College and the State University of New York, Down-State Medical Center. He completed residencies at Bronx Veterans Administration Hospital, Bronx Municipal Hospital and Memorial Hospital. He married the former Marilyn Jones of Garden City New York and raised his family in Suffern New York, Mississauga Ontario and Prince Edward Island, Canada. Anthony practiced medicine at Good Samaritan Hospital and served multiple terms as the President of the Board of Health for Rockland County, New York. He was a tireless advocate for public health issues throughout his life.
Anthony is survived by his two sons, Joseph Massaro of Flagler Beach, FL and Christopher Massaro (Michele) of St. Michaels, MD, three grandsons, Anthony, Christopher and William; and daughter Felicia Massaro of Oklahoma City, OK. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, and his wife Marilyn Massaro (Jones).

Dr. Massaro saved my brother Jon's life in 1977 at an ice skating rink in Nyack, NY. What a wonderful man........our heart felt condolences.

The Manhattan College alumni community shares the grief, and is now praying for our fellow alumni and the family at this time. The Alumni Office has been informed. As well as the Jasper Jottings community that I personally can reach. We are all a little poorer now. "No man is an island, entire of itself ... any man's death diminishes me".
