Melanie Klopp Obituary

MELANIE KLOPP Nov. 24, 1959 - July 18, 2009. Melanie Lisa Peck Klopp passed away suddenly Saturday, July 18, 2009 in Las Vegas. Born in Long Beach, Calif., Mel grew up in the southern California communities of Garden Grove, Cypress, and Solana Beach. She was a graduate of Torrey Pines High School. A lifelong dancer, she was accepted to the Southern California Ballet Company of Beverly Hills and later to School of American Ballet of New York. After many years of dancing in New York shows, she traveled and danced extensively in such venues as Las Vegas, Europe and the Caribbean islands of Aruba and St. Martin. In 1990, she returned to Las Vegas where she danced in shows such as Beyond Belief - Siegfried and Roy and Crazy Girls. Following her dancing career, she moved, along with her husband, into sales of recreational real estate in the southern Nevada vacation areas. Tall and stunningly beautiful in life, Mel was an unforgettable presence in the lives of all she touched. She was blessed with charm, graceful elegance and a sense of caring for all those around her. Her infectious smile and spirit would light up a room. Melanie will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her. Mel is survived by her husband, Randy Klopp of Las Vegas; stepdaughters, Jessica Smaka and Sarah Klopp, both of Las Vegas; mother and father, Elizabeth and William Peck of Wildomar, Calif.; sister, Lynne DeNisi of Lake Elsinore, Calif.; brother, Maxie McIntosh of Perris, Calif.; and many stepgrandchildren, nieces and nephews. Melanie's services are private and the internment will be in California.

I have been looking for you for 15 years Mel. All along wishing and hoping you were doing ok. I have finally found you on this site...Heartbreaking! I am filled with so many different emotions...I am in tears, and can barely write this. You were and always will be an important part of my life. I wish I had looked harder for you a long time ago. I have and always will miss you. I only hope now to make it to heaven to see you once again...Doing the Salsa, and to hug you one more time.

You are the most wonderful spirit I have ever known. Keep blessing all of us with it until we meet again.

I only met Melanie once and I liked her very much. It was Christmas and she gave me a very valuable gift, a book called "The Purpose Driven Life." It was the first step for me in reconnecting with God. She was an Earth Angel for doing that for me. Thank you Melanie. Be in peace, AND HAVE FUN IN HEAVEN!

My deepest sympathies to the loss of Melanie. I don't know if anyone would remember this but, Melanie used to come in at 42nd Street restaurant many times to see Lucia the chef. That is my Aunt and I am her neice, we worked there together and I used to see Melanie come in before dance at Crazy Girls, and I used to tell my auntie, She's such a beautiful Girl, I wish I looked like her....she left such an imprint in my life of beauty, stature and class. Forever she will be in our hearts and deeply missed.
God Bless

To my Auntie Mel,
You were more a sister to me as we were so close in age. I look back to our childhood and old photos. I remember your two long braids and smiling face. I will not forget the days we played Barbie's, had sleep overs, went to your Ballet classes, took the bus to the beach, and went on a long trip across the Country and Colorado. Later to all those wonderful ballet performances and seeing you backstage. I remember wearing your graduation gown, which was way too long for me when I graduated from Torrey Pines. I have many wonderful memories. I admired your strength and vitality. I love you and it was an honor to bring you home, Love always
