John Segan Obituary

Segan, John John Segan, 96, of Allentown, passed away March 24, 2015 in Phoebe Nursing Home. He was the loving husband of the late Anna C. (Chankey) Segan. Born in Ormrod, he was the son of the late Anthony and Mary (Drociak) Segan. John retired in 1972 from Bethlehem Steel after 31 years of service. He was a faithful member of St. Mary Ukrainian Orthodox Church, serving on many church committees. John enjoyed teaching others how to make Ukrainian Easter Eggs. Survivors: Sisters- Mary Segan of North Whitehall, Dorothy wife of Raymond Kutz of North Whitehall, Kathryn Kochenash of Whitehall, Helen Schown of Middlesex, NJ; Sister-In-Law- Nancy Segan of Whitehall. He was predeceased by brothers- Michael, Nicholas, Walter and Joseph and sister- Ann Segan. Services: A viewing will be held on Saturday 9-10AM with a Funeral Service at 10AM all in St. Mary Ukrainian Orthodox Church 1031 Fullerton Ave Allentown 18102. Burial to follow in the parish cemetery. Arrangements care of Kohut Funeral Home, Inc. Contributions: Contributions can be made to the Center for Vision Loss 845 Wyoming Street Allentown PA, 18103.

Dear Segan Family, Sorry to hear of John's passing. My husband and I came to know John and Anna 30 years ago, while I was in politics. They lived right around the corner from us in Allentown. Both were such very good people and now they can enjoy each other again. Thoughts and prayers are with you all.
