Laura Walker
Resident of San Jose
Laura Elizabeth Walker, beloved daughter of George and Carole Walker, went to the arms of God on Nov 3, 2012. She was lovingly cared for by her sisters, Brenda Kohler (Andy) of Ontario, NY Amy Walker of San Jose, and her parents. Her 4 nephews, Austin Drew Kohler, Erik Ryan Ahlers, dearly loved her.
Laura was born in Kane, PA on March 18, 1959 and grew up in Poughkeepsie, NY. Laura was the first deaf First Class Girl Scout in that area. She attended Lexington School for the Deaf in Manhattan and graduated from Arlington High in Poughkeepsie. Laura worked for IBM for 25 years.
A Celebration of Laura's life will be held at 10am on Sat, Nov 10 at Trinity Presbyterian 3151 Union Ave., San Jose. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in her name to the American Cancer Society

I worked with Laura in parts wash for a couple of years and became close to her at that time. She was such a sweet and fun person to be around. For the family I'm sorry for your lose, but I'm sure she's smiling on us all. God Bless Carol

I am saddened to learn that Laura died and send my sincere sympathy to her family. Laura worked in my department in the mid 1980's. She was always spread joy and kindness to everyone. Someone already said it but I will repeat that heaven has a new angel.

I worked with Laura in the Disk area at IBM and I was always delighted with Laura's smile & energy. She is an Angel and I hope she will watch over me always. I was so devastated that Laura is gone. She was always a special family friend of mine. We were both IBM employees and it was where we developed our friendship. When I retired and moved to Arizona, we kept in touch by vp or visit when I was in San Jose. She saw my 2 granddaughters grew up. She was always telling me about her 4 nephews especially the twins. I knew she was a wonderful aunt to them.. Thank you Juan for loving and caring Laura and she was always happy with him. She will be greatly missed by me and my family. Laura, She always chat me on FB online since, she say "ILY", hugs and smile all the times about one month then she is gone. I feel real miss her alot since, we did visited her and Tony Gonzales for our vacation at there. We were very great time with them. we miss her very alots! I am shocked that Laura is gone. I cried and cried. I remember barbara bocanegra, me, Laura, kathy ( Laura s roommate) always sit down to chat together. Laura is a very sweet lady likes to help and play. We call her "goofy"-she was always silly. I remember Lydia Mckillip, me, Laura, kathy and karen go out for lunch and get together. We had good time. Laura is home with the Lord and she got accept to have Jesus in her heart. I love you Laura and will be miss by all of us.

Laura was so sweet and I met her thru her roommate Kathy Johnson Velasco. It was all of us with karen Johnson and Lydia Mckillip that we all go out for lunch and had a great time. I remember we played UNO game, Laura usually give kathy a hard time by giving her a Draw Two or Draw four cards. We had a great time. Laura would come to my house to say HI to my family. My sister was like surprised. Barbara bocanegra was also with us to chat together. I m shocked that she s gone. I cried and cried. I truly miss Laura. I know she s home with the Lord. I will always love you Laura.

I'm truely sorry to hear Laura passed away I knew her for years plus she was my ex-roommate for 2 1/2 years Laura and I had really fun together to go out somewhere and good time plus we were teasing too much and laughing with friends. I knew her parents too and I miss her so much she always keep in my mind and faith with her she is resting and peace with her family in heaven and very happy no more suffering her life. I cannot believe that you have passed away Laura. You were a sweet friend to my sister Lucia. Know that she is so sadden by your death and she Really misses you. I remember when I saw you and J uan at Safeway. You hugged me so tight because you were Happy to see me. I remember standing in line and you came from behind and tapped my shoulder and tried to hide. You were Always nice to me and my daughter. I am so Sorry that you were so ill and couldn't fight it. You will surely be missed by our family and especially Lucia.
