Michael Galeota, who starred on the Disney Channel's "The Jersey" died Sunday, according to Variety. He was 31.
"It is with tremendous heartfelt sadness to announce the passing of Michael James Galeota," Jan. 10, reads a statement on a Go Fund Me page, created by Galeota's family to raise money for his burial.
"He was a precious gift – loving, giving, compassionate, joyful and intelligent," the statement continues. "A great inspiration for anyone that heard his genuine, humble, witty and joyful voice, or experienced his smile, laughter and love for just a moment. To know him was to love him."
Galeota went to a hospital last week complaining of abdominal pains and left Wednesday, according to TMZ, which first reported the news. One of his friends went over to his house to check on him after not hearing from him for a few days. The friend found him lying on the floor of his living room.
"The Jersey" premiered on the Disney Channel in 1999 and was based on the "Monday Night Football Club" books by Gordon Korman. Galeota starred on the show as Nick Lighter. The series finished in 2004.
Galeota appeared in the 1996 film "Clubhouse Detectives" and also appeared on episodes of the TV shows "E.R." and "Ally McBeal."
"The Jersey," was his last acting role.

I am sorry to hear about the death of your son. My heart goes out to your family. The loss of a child is a heartbreak that others may not fully understand. He was a young person, full of energy great and talented actor. He will always be the young Disney actor... Please accept my sincere condolences. There is nothing more delicate and and heartbreaking than the loss of a beloved one in the family.
