Gerald Kisner Obituary

Gerald "Jerry" Richard Kisner, of Carleton, age 78, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, June 30, 2017 in Carleton, Michigan with his family by his side. He was born February 4, 1939 in Weston, Michigan, the son of Estel and Katherine (Riesz) Kisner.
Jerry graduated from Hudson (MI) High School-1957 and Tri-State University (Angola IN)-1964. He was a member of Monroe Church of the Nazarene. Jerry worked 28 years as a Mechanical Engineer before retiring in 1992 with Chevrolet Powertrain. He was a jack of all trades and could repair or build anything with precision and perfection. Jerry was a strong family man and Christian. He taught his family to live and walk in the faith.
On December 23, 1961, he married Mary Elizabeth Cole in Carleton, and she survives. Other survivors include a son, Rev. Paul (Dawn) Kisner of Cape Coral, FL; two daughters, Vicki Weis of South Bend, IN, Julie (Rev. John) Rister of Holland, OH; a brother, Dale (Freda) Kisner of Hudson; a sister, Kathy (Richard) Cole of Hillsdale; 5 grandchildren, Adam (Heather) Weis, Daniel (Kristy) Rister, Johannah (Andrew) Villa, Emily (Judson) Stagnaro, Abigail Rister; 1 great-grandson, Owen Stagnaro; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Kisner.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 6, 11:00 am at Monroe Church of the Nazarene, with Rev. John Rister officiating. Burial will be at Michigan Memorial Park Cemetery in Flat Rock. The family will receive friends Wednesday, 1-8 pm at Bobcean Funeral Home in Carleton. Viewing will also be held Thursday, 10-11 am at the church in Monroe. Memorial contributions may be made to Monroe Church of the Nazarene or North Fort Myers Church of the Nazarene. Arrangements by Cole Funeral Chapel, Chelsea.

I'm very sad to learn of Jerry's passing. He was a Godly man and I really enjoyed his sense of humor, and his caring heart. No doubt he is with our Lord in heaven and we will see him once again. Condolences to Mary and the entire family.

Mom (Jerry's aunt Rowena) say she wishes she could be there but she is unable to travel. We will keep Jerry and all the family in our prayers. We are sending a contribution to Monroe Church of the Nazarene.
