Julia Dovey Obituary

A memorial service for Julia "Graham" Ann Dovey, 98, of Ormond Beach, FL, who passed away November 22, 2014, will be held on Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at Dale Woodward Funeral Home chapel, 1780 Ocean Shore Boulevard, Ormond Beach, FL 32176, at 2:00pm. Mrs. Dovey was born in Bridgeport, CT to Andrew and Velma Beres, but grew up in Johnstown, NY. She made her way to Florida to raise her family. She loved spending her time cooking and tending to her garden-especially her Hibiscus plants. She was well known for her clothing ensembles and jewelry. She has a collection of over 75 unusually shaped purses and handbags. She was a well-known regular at Alfies Restaurant in Ormond Beach where everyone knew her as Graham. She was also a member of the Hibiscus Club. Left to cherish her memory are her two daughters: Gloria D. Altavilla of Ormond Beach, FL and Linda Lee Tyre of Jacksonville, FL, her two grandsons: Christopher J. Altavilla of Ormond Beach, FL and Ricky Lee Tyre of Jacksonville, FL, her sister: Ella Russo of Johnstown, NY, two great-granddaughters, many nieces and nephews, and her special friends Dina and Gregg Evans.
