Corinne Dein was the finest wildlife artist I have ever known. On the walls of my home are hung dozens of her pen-and-ink drawings of birds, mammals, reptiles and mythical creatures.

In the years before her death, she worked for me, publisher of Islandwide Runner magazine, sketching countless drawings that were used on race applications and tee shirts. During our close and mutually beneficial relationship, her work was imprinted on race shirts that were worn on runners from one end of Long Island to the other, inspiring each one of them to be close to nature; to love, appreciate and protect it.

Although I learned of her passing many years after its occurance, no day has passed, from the early 1980s (as fellow members of the Great South Bay Audubon Society) to today (in 2025)--and beyond--our shared love of nature has warmed my every day.

What stunning pictures of your mother! And how moving to see Nani and Granddaddy and mom and Aunt Lois, too. Aunt Corinne brought beauty and elegance into the world with her art and her wonderful sense of decorum. A true lady. Your photos confirm that she was beautiful inside and out. She and you remain in our thoughts and prayers.

To Corinne's Family,
I was very sad to learn of Corinne's passing. I had the privilege of working with Corinne at AIL in the Publications Dept. Corinne was a lovely lady with a sweet personality, in additiion to being an immensely talented artist. She created silhouettes of each person who worked in the department, cutting them out of black paper and gluing them on white board.
My prayers for all of you. May God carry you through this difficult time.
