Homer Hankins Obituary

BALLINGER Homer Lee Hankins, 72, of Kempner, TX, was born on February 14, 1941, to Jim Henry Hankins and Clara B. Cheek in Breckenridge, TX. He was a beloved father, grandpa, great grandpa, and friend. God took him home on November 16, 2013, at his residence in Kempner, TX. He will be truly missed.
Homer was a life time truck driver and loved his job. He collected knives. He was a hard working man right to the very end! He was married to Vonnie Butler for 11 years and they had two children, Jimmy Hankins and Teresa Bryant. He never stopped loving her.
He is preceded in death by his father, mother, brother, J.H Hankins, and sister, Shirley Coldiron. He is survived by his son, Jimmy and wife Jewel of Kempner, TX, daughter, Teresa Bryant and husband Doug of Kempner, TX, step daughter, Melissa Kinsey of Florida, and step son, Donald Wayne Gentry of Florida. He also has 10 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren and lots of friends. He may be gone but he is not forgotten. Funeral will be Thursday, November 21, 2013, in Odessa, TX, at the Faith Community Baptist Church. Services will be officiated by Dr. Shelton.
Funeral service will be directed under the care of Heritage Family Funeral Home of Ballinger, TX.
