We still talk about you all the time to the kids and I know you'd be so proud of them-Jack is really such a boy-I know you must be loving watching him! And Abbie is such a sweetheart-always looking up to the sky saying she sees you on the clouds!! I just miss you so much! Please keep showing little signs you are there! Love you Popsicle!! xoxo

Hey Dad - wanted you to know I was thinking of you...not a day, hour...sometimes minute goes by that I don't. I miss your laugh and our talks to and from work. Somehow you always took the time to listen and say the right thing to make me feel better...I truly hope I can do that for my kids someday. There are a lot of things I hope to emulate from you...someday, I hope they will smile when they think of me after I'm gone and appreciate the effort of trying to be the best Dad I can be...like you were to the 5 of us.

I am trying really hard to make you proud and when it's not easy, I think of you and it pulls me through. That said, I wish you were here...you were my confidante and life became much harder once God borrowed you from us. But I know you would want us to all live on happy in your memory and focus on our families like you did. It is that which pushes me to succeed on a daily basis...I want to be as great as you were...as a Dad, as a husband, as a friend, as a neighbor, as a coach...you were the best. Those are big shoes to fill...but I won't ever stop trying.

I know you can see me all of the time and I pray you can see my kids...they're doing great and you would be really proud of all that they are accomplishing but most of all, what kind and sweet people they are. They all have your heart. Noelle is doing great too - you'd be amazed at what a super Mom she is. She's everything I think you ever wanted for me in a wife.

Anyway - just wanted to check in on you.

I love you and live through you,
Matt

Thinking of you, Daddio, as I watch Lucas play baseball. I'll never forget how much you always said you wanted to watch him play. I know you have front row seats now but I really wish you were here to watch him. Thinking back, it's pretty incredible how you somehow knew baseball would be his sport. In watching him play, I now understand one of the joys in parenthood that you certainly cherished. Addie and I went for a run before the game and there were huge birds that followed us throughout and she kept pointing them out. I know your watching and you are always in my heart.

Almost 10 months later and I still feel like it was yesterday! I think about you every day and wish you were here to see Jack Albert. I know we would have a lot of laughs about how silly he is! I can still hear your voice say "He is a beauty, Col." I miss you so much Dad. Wish there was something we could do to bring you back. Wish we would have had more time but I know I am so fortunate to have had the most wonderful father with me for over 31 years! I love you always and forever.

I cant believe it has been three months since you have been gone, Dad. I miss you so much. I miss our daily conversations and just hearing your voice. I know you are watching me from heaven and I know how happy you are about Jack Albert. He is such a happy little boy and I talk to him about you all the time. He knows he has a special angel in heaven who will always be with him. He is so lucky to have such an amazing grandfather. I just miss you so much, Dad. I know you are there but please continue to show me little signs that you are. You were not only my dad, but my friend! I love you!

My Dad loved his family with all of his heart and placed his faith in God that all of the love he gave with his one in a million smile (that would light any room he entered) would translate into a family that he could be proud of...and proud he was...nothing brought him more joy than to see us all married to wonderful people and all able to expand our own families.

I think it takes being a parent to truly appreciate how much your own parents gave up to provide for a better life for you and he always did that for us. We never felt like we wanted for anything, always had the best education, sports equipment, vacations, toys, clothes and to this day, I don’t know how he did it but somehow he did and yet managed to hide the sacrifices that were made from us. He spent all his life giving of himself for his wife and kids...and never expected anything more than for us to take advantage of those sacrifices to create a happy and fruitful lives for ourselves. Never expected so much as a thank you - thank you, Daddio, for creating a legacy that we are all proud of and an example of exactly how to live the life of a wonderfully loving parent, spouse, sibling, grandparent and friend. You are truly one of a kind and people like you only come around once in a blue moon...I just happen to be so lucky to have been an offspring of that blue moon rarity.

Rest in peace, Daddio, I will try hard to always make you proud but please don't be shy about sending me a sign every once in a while when you think I can do better.

As much as I told you, I hope that you know that I love you more than even words could express. I have lost a part of who I am but I will spend the rest of my life building it back up to try to become a semblance of the man that you were.

Lastly - be careful not to break too many hands as you greet people walking thru the pearly gates :)

There is cause for rejoicing here, a good man has returned to the Lord. You did a great job, Dad. Can you believe all the people that came to your wake and funeral? Unbelievable! They had to use the bank lot across the street and the line to see you was snaking all through the building. Ron Dimaggio said it was top 10 all time. We all love you and hope we can live the way you did. Thanks for all your encouragement through the years. You were always there for me, my family and our whole family.

"But since we are of the day, let us be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love and the helmet that is hope for salvation. For God did not destine us for wrath, but to gain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us, so that whether we are awake or asleep we may live together with him. Therefore, encourage one another and build one another up, as indeed you do." 1 Thes 5:11

We have known Al and Maureen for 20 years. Throughout that time Al’s deep love for his wife and family was always visible. He enjoyed chaperoning school functions with Maureen. Al was a great husband, father, and grandfather. Less than a week before he died, Al proudly showed us a picture of his newest grandchild, Jack Albert. We will always remember this wonderful man.

A wonderful man and even greater father. I know he's in heaven laughing with family and old friends, passing out strong handshakes, and delighting the masses with stories of his life with mom, the achievements of his children, and the adventures of his grandchildren. You will be missed, Dad, but you will definitely live on in our lives. I love you.
