Tommy you will be missed by many. You had a unique perspective on life that was at times brilliant, amusing or infuriating but always your own. You used the term neighborhood with more meaning and feeling than most. When you said someone was from the neighborhood it was a seal of approval. You left us too soon but it is comforting to know you passed doing something you loved but more importantly you spent your last moments in good hands surrounded by your guys from the neighborhood. Rest In Peace My Friend.

Although I was not a good enough player to make Archbishop Molloy's team I did have the privilege of having Tom in my homeroom for four years. As good as he was he was always modest, a trait often missing from the modern athlete! RIP.

Tommy"The Bird" Sowinski was a unique individual, and one of the most honest people I ever knew. He was a great teammate, friend, and pitcher. Every time he pitched we thought we were going to win.I loved playing behind him, his command of his pitches was phenomenal ,but more importantly we will all miss him.RIP

I can still see you pitching for Cyliar Post, in the OZ Park Little league. Tommy, it was great to have you as a part of my childhood, and also the endless laughs, we shared, in our later years. God bless you, and rest in peace......

The Manhattan College alumni community shares the grief, and is now praying for our fellow "Jasper Maker" and the family at this time. Staff -- current and past -- are recognized, remembered, and prayed for. We are mindful of the service of these good men and women that comprise the Jasper "forge" that making us what we are. The Alumni Office has been informed. As well as the Jasper Jottings community that I personally can reach. We are all a little poorer now. "No man is an island, entire of itself ... any man's death diminishes me". We are sorry for your loss.
