JAMES ELLIOTT Obituary

ELLIOTT--James Gerard,

of Boynton Beach, FL and Forest Hills, NY on August 8th - just six days before his 69th birthday. Loving husband of Min (Wang), father of Christopher, Tara, and Jason, stepfather of Richard Li, proud grandparent of Frank and Emilia, father-in-law of Megan (Connors), brother of John C., Brendan, T.J., and Irene Elliott. Jim was predeceased by his parents, John T. and Mary Angela (Connaghan), and brother Michael. A graduate of Bergen Catholic High School and Manhattan College, with an MBA from NYU's Stern College of Business, Jim was for ten years Vice President, Risk & Insurance Management at Morgan Stanley and held many other executive titles during his 40 year financial services industry career. An automotive enthusiast for all of his life, Jim designed unique cars and established racing records. Faithful son, devoted spouse, caring father, loyal brother, persevering friend: we will miss Jim always. To honor Jim, gifts to the Br. Bernadine James Elliott, FSC Memorial Scholarship that he founded, should be made payable to Manhattan College and sent to: Manhattan College, Advancement Office, Memorial Hall 100, 4513 Manhattan College Parkway Riverdale, NY 10471. Or online at: https://connect manhattan.edu/giving and specify the scholarship by name.

Our first contact with the Elliott family was through Jim, we were trying to trace our relatives in the states. We came across an advert from a gentleman by the name of Jim Elliott selling his clasic sports car, Jim not knowing who we were but being the man he was, took our quest in good faith and helped us establish ties that have grown beyond anyones expectations. We have met Jim and his brothers several times in both Ireland and in Boca Raton at Johns home.
To Min, Jims children, his brothers and sister Irene, the extended family, we are truly sorry for your loss.
"Jim thank you for everything you did for us, you were a true gentleman, we will always be thinking of you, RIP"

The Manhattan College alumni community shares the grief, and is now praying for our fellow alumni and the family at this time. The Alumni Office has been informed. As well as the Jasper Jottings community that I personally can reach. We are all a little poorer now. "No man is an island, entire of itself ... any mans death diminishes me". We are sorry for your loss.
