So sorry to hear of your father's passing...such a long and productive life, the trunk of a stalwart and gentle tree with so many interesting branches. May you all follow in his footsteps--all of them, and then some!

I'm so sorry just finding that Andy had passed away. I worked with Andy for many years at PPG. He was the smartest engineer we had and taught me all I know about turbo-generators. Andy was one of the nicest men I have ever met. I know he is in Heaven now. Our prayers are with the family.

I met Andy many years ago when I was friends with his niece, Jane. Then, when I started working for the City of Barberton collecting water bill payments, he became one of my favorite customers. He always said How do, How do & was so cute & friendly. I've missed him since he stopped coming in. May your memories & your faith carry you through. Rest in peace, Andy. You've earned your crown in Heaven & we'll all miss you.

I am one of many fortunate people whose life was touched by Andy. I can see the twinkle in his eyes with playing music with Singing Strings and then being able to share with Andy and Catherine on a personal basis through the years. Our loss, but what an outstanding example. Even if ties are not required in Heaven I think Andy will have his on.

The earth lost a truely dear man with Andy's passing. He & Mrs.Ligas were always like my 2nd father & mother. I loved to help Mrs.Ligas cook, and Mr.Ligas could always make you smile. I was so lucky to grow up when neighbors knew & cared about each other. Deepest Sympathy & love to the family, and thank you Mr.Ligas for sharing part of your life & family with me.

Andy was a wonderful human being with a heart of gold. He gave generously to his family, friends, and community and asked for nothing in return. I'll always be grateful for the positive and loving influence he had on my children, who had the good fortune to call him Grandpa.

How deeply sadden I am to loss of my Uncle Andy. Hew was not only my Uncle but he was also a man with a heart of Gold. I will never forget the summers I spent at his home back in the 70's and he would come home and always have a joke or two to share. When a few years back I took him to the Hall of Fame in Canton he was like a kid in the candy shop especially when he seen Jim Thorpes Uniform and also some of the inductees of the Cleveland Browns.
All I can say he was true example of a loyal and faithful servant to the lord and he is up there singing and dancing with all the angels and may God be with him always.

Barberton had a city treasure pass this week. Uncle Andy was a rock and truely a LONG life member of Barberton. It was easy to know where to find Andy and Kate for as long as I was old enough to remember until the last few years they lived on Phifer Street. Rarely could you know just stop by and find them home ready to welcome your visit. To me Uncle Andy was always a quiet and gentle man I don't know what he was like if he got upset just never saw it myself. Aunt Kate if you wonder if he is waiting for you to join him in Christ heavenly garden I know his answer beyond doubt "YES KATE" the words I remember hearing over and over upon any visits. Rest in Peace and Dance with your healthy spirit.

It was a privilege meeting and taking care of your father, Andy Ligas. I enjoyed his smile, sense of humor, his love for Kate and family, and his love for soup. He really enjoyed eating soup, it was, I think his favorite. I will especially miss his favorite How do How do. Andy is gone to be with Jesus but not forgotten. He touched many lives.
