Sammie Hailey Obituary
Sammie L. Hailey, 65, of Akron, Ohio, passed away December 9, 2014 at home, and was received with open arms by her Heavenly Father.
Sammie was born October 24, 1949 in Akron, daughter to Sam and Birdie Akers, who, along with her husband Gene R. Hailey Jr., preceded her in death. She attended Kenmore High School. She loved reading and being with family and friends.
Surviving are two sons, Samuel C. Hailey (Timothy Applegate), Gabriel A. (Angie) Hailey, sister, Connie L. (Buff) Lucas; granddaughters Genna, Havynn, and Lacie Hailey; long time friend and companion, Shirley Danforth; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
A memorial service will be held Friday, December 12, 2014, at 11 a.m., with a luncheon following at Community Church of Portage Lakes, 3260 Cormany Road, Akron, OH 44319 (ADAMS MASON FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 330-535-9186)

I didnt speak at the service. For one Im a blubbering idiot. Mostly everyone that did speak, said everything that stands true for me as well. Mom Sammie was one in a million. Our house is truly empty without her in it. I made her breakfasts. She loved fresh coffee made to her liking, which was truly any way it turned out. She was my mother in law in everyway that matters, but a friend and confidant, beyond the universe. If I heal from this it will be a true miracle. Goodbye Mom for now

to Sammie and her family, I lived across the street from you on Leroy St. I am so sad for your loss. Please send my love and condolences to all of you. I have the greatest of memories of this fine lady. We moved to Green and you stayed at Kenmore but we still stayed in touch. all my prayers and thoughts will be with you.

Sammie, we met in 10th grade and became instant friends. You and I have seen a lot of life together, and watched our children born and grow. We have laughed, cried, and laughed again. I'm glad that you are my sister. You are so much a part of me and I will carry you always in my heart. Your compassion always made my heart bigger. We will sing together once more. I will always remember Sammie's laugh...that will always make me smile. Sam and Gabe I have great memories of when your mom would babysit me before and after school when I went half day. My heart is heavy for all of you, praying for each of you to find some sort of comfort. All my love!

Words cannot express my feelings for you mom.I fell in love with you all over again these last four weeks we had together.I never once saw you cry or feel sorry for yourself after your diagnosis of cancer.In fact you were consoling those around you.You are truely more amazing than I knew.I will miss hearing you say I love you and seeing you with your granddaughters.Everytime I watch the Browns and Ohio State I will hear you cheering with me.I am over joyed to know for certain that you are with your Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ at this very moment and forever more.Finally you are being treated like the princess that you are and getting to be with your long lost husband family and friends.Sam and I are very proud and honored to call you our mother and friend.If you can send a butterfly or two so I can have even more certainty please do.I LOVE YOU OXOX!See you soon momma.
