Willie (Stan) Shearl
Willie (Stan) Shearl born August 28, 1925, passed away Friday, September 18th after a six year battle with Alzheimer's.
Stan was an Army veteran of World War II and retired from Firestone after 47 years. He loved raising chickens and gardening.
Stan was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Delia; wife, Alice; brothers, Hank and Harold and sister, Inis. Stan is survived by loving wife of 34 years, Betty; son, Jeff (Arlene); grandson, Jeffrey; and six other grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; three daughters, Terry (Ricky), Julie and Sandra (Brian).
The family would like to thank Barberton Summa Hospice especially Don, Kimberly and Debbie.
Funeral Services will be held WEDNESDAY, September 23, 2015, 12 p.m. NOON, at the Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home, 624 E. Cherry St. (Rt. 93) Canal Fulton and also where friends may call ONE HOUR PRIOR to service. Burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park. www.swigarteasterlingfuneralhome.com

Uncle Stan was like a father to me when I was young. He and my Mother were very close and I loved to hear her stories of their mischievous adventures in the hills of Kentucky when they were children. She also told me what a brave soldier he was in World War II. He was a scout, which was a dangerous position, but of course he never talked much about it, being the modest person he was. Uncle Stan was a kind, gentle, hard-working man and a loving father and husband. Aunt Betty, I am so glad you two found each other all those years ago. You were made for each other and what a rare love you shared! Mom and I were comforted to know you were there, so lovingly, tirelessly caring for him. I will be sending up prayers for you and Jeff and all the family who loved him. Rest in heavenly peace, dear Uncle Stan. I love and miss you more than words can say.

We are so saddened by the passing of our good friend and neighbor Stan. Stan and Betty have been the best neighbors one could ask for. We hope Betty and the family's hearts will soon be filled with the memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived.
