Laura Shugart Obituary
Laura is survived by her mother, Mary Ann, and father, Thomas F. Smida of Lower Paxton Township. She leaves behind in this life her Aunt Kathleen Boyle of Bonsall, CA, Uncle Brian Shugart and his wife Gail of Alpine, TX, Uncle John Shugart and wife Bonnie of Pittsburgh, PA, Aunt Kathryn Williams and husband David of Bethlehem, PA and Aunt Patricia Graziano and husband Frank of Buffalo, NY, as well as many cousins each of whom she loved dearly.
Laura's passions included animals (Buster, Marley, Finnegan and Slushy), art, glass-blowing, music (Grateful Dead and Phish), jewelry design, collecting gem stones and her friends and family.
In lieu of flowers, please contribute to the Dauphin County Humane Society in Laura's name.
Internment and a celebration of her life will be held at the convenience of the family. www.pennlive.com/obits

Laura, I love you like a sister, now and forever. I'm sorry I could not spend the night. We just had a small reunion and you were there with us in spirit. We could feel you. You are greatly missed and I left you a ring and a clove. I hope you found them. I think you were there with me that day on the mountain though you felt far away. I like to think you were off on some beach doing yoga and getting a tan. We all wear your beads. Your laugh is forever etched in my mind as one of the truest things in this realm or that.

You are in our prayers! I still have a wooden cardinal bird that Laura made sitting on my window sill. Nothing harder than losing a child. I know that from my father's experiences. We will always treasure our memories of Laura. She had unsurpassed love for her mother, Mary Ann and father Tom. Her talent and beauty are preserved in her works of art. We shared many pieces with our friends that are sparkling christmas ornaments, hummingbird feeders, and unique pendants. Our love will keep her close until we can all be together and at peace.
