JOANNE R. TRACE, 80, OF POTTSTOWN Joanne R. (Whitacre) Trace, 80, of Pottstown, PA, formerly Pine Forge, PA, died on Thursday, December 3, 2015 at the Pottstown Memorial Medical Center, Pottstown, PA. She was the wife of Robert L. Trace, with whom she shared 61 years of marriage. Born in Pottstown, PA, she was the daughter of the late J. Robert Whitacre and Edna (Yocom) Whitacre Morrow. She was was a graduate of Pine Forge Elementary and the class of 1952 of Pottstown High School. Joanne attended Kutztown State Teachers College (University), where she studied elementary education. Mrs. Trace worked as a travel agent for the former Storb Travel from 1953-61; 1975-1990 and more recently from 1990 – 1997 for the Lobb Travel Agency until her retirement. Joanne was a loving and caring daughter, wife, mother and grandmother devoted to her family. She possessed a great faith and optimism and was always concerned about the well-being of all her family and friends. She will truly be missed. Surviving in addition to her husband are one daughter, Susan B., wife of Samuel F. Lawrence of Pottstown, PA, and four grandchildren, Ian C. and his wife Dani, Seth A., Jill M. Lawrence and Bailey R. Trace. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sons, Timothy R. Trace (1967) and Robert J. Trace (2009). Funeral service and interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
