Mary Irgens

May 27, 1919 - March 20, 2015

Mary Irgens, a 24-year resident of Oceanside, died on March 20, 2015. She passed peacefully at her home surrounded by her children and grandchildren. Born in 1919 in Denver, Colorado, she lived her school years in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and moved to California after she was married. She lived in Torrance from 1952 until 1991, and retired from the City of Torrance library system after 20 years of service. Mary was a loving wife and mother. She loved going to movies, plays, playing cards, traveling, Amtrak, museums and the 'Padres'. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Edmund. She is survived by sons Tim (wife Bahia), John, Dean (wife Norma) and daughters Camille and Diane (husband Tony), 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Mary had a great zest for life and a wonderfully kind heart. She will be greatly missed. Please sign the guestbook at www.dailybreeze.com/obits.
