RITA FORSYTHE It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Rita Forsythe, on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at Rainy Lake Medical Center in International Falls at the age of 96. Rita was born on May 22, 1929, to Wilfred and Mary Radford in Port Arthur (Thunder Bay), Ontario. She married Gerald Forsythe in 1948. They were married 74 years at the time of his passing in 2022. In addition to Gerald, she was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers: Harvey, Richard, and Roy; sisters: Helen, June, and Marie; and a grandson Jason Sanden in 2021. Rita is survived by her daughter Susan (Merlin) Sanden; and her son Brad (Debi) Forsythe; grandson Jeff (Kaysi); four great-grandchildren: Carter, John, Lauren, and Elizabeth; and her granddaughter-in-law Carla Sanden. Rita worked as an administrative specialist in the insurance department of Boise Cascade for many years. She faithfully attended the Evangelical Covenant Church until she was no longer able to do so. She was very proficient at needlework, knitting, embroidery and crocheting. She loved to read and could she even play a game of Rummikub! She was famous for her sloppy joes, and no one could fry a walleye like mom. A Graveside Service and interment will be held Wednesday, October 29 at 11am at Forest Hill Cemetery, International Falls, MN. We sincerely thank and appreciate the staff at the Northwinds Assisted Living and to the doctors, nurses and staff at Rainy Lake Medical Center, thank you all for your care and compassion given to mom and her family.
