Mark Whitney Obituary

Mark W. Whitney
Mark W. Whitney, age 69, passed away at his home in Sierra Vista, Arizona, on August 29th, after a brief illness he endured with strength, dignity and courage. He was born to the late David C. and Coral (Payne) Whitney on February 27,1956, in Waterbury, Connecticut.
Mark is survived by his his wife, Donna (Santa Maria) Whitney. He also leaves behind two children from a previous marriage, Emily Mancini, Mark Whitney, and two granddaughters, Abigail and Alison Whitney; as well as sisters, Sally Dasovich, Susan Frois, and brother, Glen. He was preceded in death by his brother, David.
Mark turned his passion for carpentry into a successful career in the construction industry. His talents were expressed in the structures he built and the business he helped found. He was the quintessential strong, silent type, with a dry sense of humor and a willingness to lend a hand wherever and whenever needed. He will be sorely missed by everyone whose life he touched, but especially by his friend, Kevin Quint, and friend and business partner, Bill Goethe, who were as close to him as brothers would be.
A private memorial service will be held at the discretion of the family.
