With great shock and disbelief we have learned about Rob Ford's health issues some time ago, and now there is a sense of tremendous loss because of his untimely passing. He was a person completely dedicated to the people of his own city, but the impression spreads beyond Toronto's borders. I never met Rob in person, but knew he was a very colourful Mayor. He always promised to stop the gravy trains, which he did. I can't think of any other politican who made good with their promises. I moved out of Toronto 5 years ago, not being able to vote for him. I do regret that very much.
Rob is where he needs to be now..away from the pain & suffering. His brother Doug will keep Ford Nation going, you can count on that.

I watched the funeral and you made me realize even more , as I knew , that you are a close and loving family . I know that Mayor Ford was a wonderful person and I am so sorry that you lost him .
