Marcia Kolb Obituary

Desperately missed, deeply loved, and eternally rememembered. Born June 10, 1937. She entered into her new life on July 8, 2015. Married to Richard S. Kolb until his passing on October 13, 1993. Loving mother of Susan Larson (Kevon), Scott Kolb (Leslie) and Steven Kolb (Marla). Adoring Nana to Rion Larson, Tara Lynch (Christopher), Meghan Larson, Ivy and Eden Kolb, Travis, Ragen, and Brooke Monahan. A devoted and loyal parishioner at Holy Spirit Parish Church, and daily Mass attendee, Marcia had a special devotion to Our Lady and made several pilgrimages to Medjugorje. She prayed constantly and devotedly for others every day. She was happy to act as a surrogate Mom and Nana to many in and around Land Park. Marcia was also an avid sports fan. She rarely missed a soccer game, swim meet, volleyball match or other event when her children or grandchildren were participating. The A's games were on the radio all summer long throughout the house while her kids were growing up. She was known to get a little cranky with umps and refs - especially at her kids and grandkids games, but only when they deserved it. She loved friendly bets on Sunday football games. Marcia enjoyed the company of many longfime friends. She loved hcr weekly meetings of the Learned Ladies, McKinley Park birthday lunches, travels with friends, summers at Pajaro Dunes with the whole family, Christmas Eve Mass with crab dinners afterwards, wild Easter egg hunts, and Grandparents Day at Holy Spirit School. Perhaps most of all, Marcia cherished the simple ongoing contact with her children and grandchildren whether by text or phone, over cup of coffee or an after work drink. She loved spending a part of every day connecting with and showing her love for her family. Friends are invited to attend a Rosary at Holy Spirit Church, 3159 Land Park Drive, Thursday, July 23, at 6:30 PM. Friends are also invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be offered for the repose of her soul at the Church Friday, at 10:30 AM. Remembrances may be made in her memory to a charity of your choice. W. F. GORMLEY & SONS, FUNERAL DIRECTORS.

Dear Susan, Scott and Steve,
What a joy it was to work with your mother at the beginning of my teaching career; It was a new venture for the both of us. During those ten years, she brought an elegance to the classroom by cleverly teaching our students social graces in addition to the curriculum. Marcia was very patient and gave lots of encouragement. She told wonderful stories of her family and mentioned how much she loved the trips to the National Parks! Marcia glowed when she learned of the birth of her first grandson and loved to participate in family activities. We worked so well together; many days we would laugh when we saw each other arrive at school wearing the same color outfit. Marcia was so thoughtful and caring of everyone and would weekly bring flowers from her garden to brighten our classroom. She will be sorely missed, but her memory and time spent with you all will forever be in your hearts.

The world has lost one of the best mothers and grandmothers around. How lucky were you all to have her in your lives. She was always happy to see me...to know how things were going with my life and to tell me about all of you. Sorry I'm so slow in getting the news. My heart aches for you all. With love from Mary and the Egan Family

Susan, Scott, and Steven,

Life goes on and relationships change, but memories last forever.

I am fondly remembering the time we all spent together as next door neighbors.

May the sharing of your memories of your mom comfort you in your loss.

I am sorry for your loss,
